Aluminum Indonesia sent the latest news to China. It shows that the output of aluminum ingots in Indonesia will greatly increase, and Adtech is very optimistic about the Indonesian aluminum industry market.
Indonesia DSM Mining Company, a large-scale bauxite producer, successfully obtained a new export quota of 5.2 million tons of bauxite at the end of March, according to a source from the company.
“We received a new export quota of 5.2 million tons of bauxite at the end of last month,” the person said. They have resumed bauxite production at the end of March, and the output in April is expected to be around 500,000 tons. In September last year, its 4.2 million tons of bauxite export quota expired. Starting in mid-April, they will use a large cargo ship of about 170,000 tons to load bauxite. The first ship is expected to start loading this weekend. They plan to ship 4 large cargo ships every month starting in May of this year. Its annual production capacity is 8.4 million tons, mainly producing bauxite Al2O3 47-48% ReSiO2 5%max. The output in 2020 will reach about 4 million tons, and this year is expected to be about 5.2 million tons.
At present, the mainstream Chinese CIF price of Indonesian bauxite Al2O3 47%min ReSiO2 5%max is US$45.5-47.5/dry ton, up by about US$0.5/dry ton from the middle of last month, which is mainly supported by rising freight rates. Starting from the middle of this year, most Indonesian bauxite producers plan to use large cargo ships for shipment. It is reported that the current shipping fee for a large cargo ship of 170,000 to 180,000 tons to China is US$11-12/ton, while the shipping fee for a small cargo ship of 50,000-60,000 tons is as high as US$17-18/ton.

Indonesia TBJ is a large local bauxite producer. It plans to start developing a new bauxite mining area at the end of this month with estimated reserves of 10 million tons, a source in the company disclosed.
“We plan to start developing a new bauxite mining area at the end of this month, with reserves estimated to be around 10 million tons,” the source said. The new mining area will supply bauxite Al2O3 47%min ReSiO2 6%max, which is better than the current bauxite Al2O3 46%min. The annual production capacity of bauxite in the new mining area reaches 2.4 million tons, and it is expected to start production at the end of the month. The target output next month is about 200,000 tons.
The old mining area has an annual production capacity of 2 million tons, which was put into operation at the end of last year. The total output this year is about 300,000 tons, and it currently holds about 150,000 tons of inventory. They stopped production at the beginning of July due to the expiration of the export quota of about 2 million tons of bauxite. In mid-December, the company is expected to receive a new export quota of 2.2 million tons of bauxite.
At present, the CIF price of Al2O3 47%min ReSiO2 5%max in Indonesia is US$43.5-44.5/dry ton, which is the same as last week, and the price will remain strong in the next two weeks because the freight is high at US$9-10/ton.
